Local Telephone Service
We offer a multitude of services to our business and residential customers. In addition to basic telephone service, we also offer the following:
Local Exchange Service or "Local Access" is a telephone communication service provided by Roberts County Telephone Cooperative Association and RC Communications, Inc., within Exchange Areas where telephone companies are authorized to serve. The Exchange consists of a geographic unit established for the administration of telephone service in a specified area, called the Exchange Area, which usually embraces a city, town, or village, and its environs. It may consist of one or more central offices, together with the associated plant, equipment, and facilities used in furnishing communications service within that area. Exchange facilities are used to establish and maintain connection between the Exchange and the rest of the world by transmitting calls within the Exchange or to other exchanges or carriers.
Local telephone service is billed monthly in advance and payment is due when the statement is rendered. Rates are based on residential or business service. For additional information on rates and policies, please contact the office at 605-637-5211.
